Types of Ration Cards in Punjab
The government has issued two types of Ration Cards in punjab state, i.e. (i) PHH and (ii) AAY.
AAY- Antyodaya Anna Yojana:
- The eligible cardholders in this category belong to the poorest families. 35-40 kg of goods are allotted to such families at very low prices.
- PHH-Priority Families:
This category of ration card holders will have to fulfill the income criteria set by the state government to get the advantages.
Who can apply for Punjab Ration Card?

NFSA Punjab Smart Card Scheme 2021
Earlier known as Atta Dal Yojana, NFSA (National Food Security Act) has introduced a new type of card, called Punjab Smart Ration Card. Some of the major key features of the card are listed below.
1.42 crore beneficiaries will be benefited by this scheme.
The head of the family will be the eldest woman in the household.
Wheat will be distributed at a concessional rate of Rs. 2 per kg.
Wheat will be allotted to the beneficiaries in one go.
The department will deliver the goods to the entitled consumer at his doorstep.
If the department does not release the full amount of the insured wheat, the beneficiary can approach the consumer court.
Under the scheme, each member of the family is allotted five kg of wheat per month.
For effective implementation, the concerned departments, gram panchayats, monitoring committees, transporters and beneficiaries will coordinate among themselves.

Although an online application process has not yet been established, a requisite process is mentioned below for reference.

Offline Procedure to apply
Follow the below-mentioned steps to apply for Punjab Ration Card offline.
- Visit any nearest Suvidha Centre/ Taluk office/ ePDS Department of Punjab.
- Collect your application form.
- Fill in your details in the space provided, such as your basic information, address, bank details, and details of your family members.
- Affix your recent passport size photograph.
- Also, attach all the supporting documents.
- Submit the completed form to the cornered officials.
- Save the received acknowledgment slip.
You may have to pay a small required fee to the department to start the process.
How to Check Punjab Ration Card Beneficiary List?
The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has been Updated the Punjab New Ration List 2021 online. To check the list, you can follow these steps.
Step I:- Firstly, you have to visit the official website of AePDS, Punjab. Its homepage will open.
Step II:- On the left side of the homepage, you will get the “Month Summary” button. Click on it.
Step III:- Clicking on it will open a new page. Select the relevant month.
Step IV:- District wise list will appear as follows. Click on your applying district.
Step V:- Later, an Inspector-wise list will appear, followed by FPS ID and RC Number.
STEP VI:- Search your name or RC number from the list and check desired details.
Search Beneficiary in Punjab Ration Card Portal
Punjab AEPDS Portal allows you to view beneficiary details online. For the same check, the Procedure mentioned below.
Step I:- Visit the official website of AEPDS Punjab. Then, click on the option “Beneficiary Details” available on the left menu sidebar.
Step II:- Enter your Ration Card Number in the space provided. Then, click on the “Submit” button.
Step III:- All the details related to the respective ration card will be displayed on the screen. This will include details like RC number, FDS ID, Inspector details, type of ration card, family member details, and quantity and type of items received so far.

Public Grievance Redressal System is a platform for redressal of issues related to the concerned department or services. For quick response and redressal, the authorities have now digitized the grievance process.
